The Office of Directorate General Protocol seeks to extend the first hand that welcomes President, Prime Minister, Governors, Chief Ministers, Foreign / National High Level Delegates and other prominent dignitaries to our Province. This office is responsible for Provincial protocol matters and ceremonial events. It organizes and coordinates protocol affairs for major functions in Province Punjab and manages matters related to courteous reception, diplomatic privileges, and immunities of foreign diplomatic missions and relevant personnel in Punjab. By serving on the front lines of diplomatic engagement, we promote cross-cultural exchange and build new bridges of understanding between people and governments around the world.
Protocol Wing was established in Directorate General Public Relations in 1985. Later on, Directorate General of Protocol Punjab was established as an attached department of Services & General Administrative Department (I&C Wing) in 2003. Since its inception, this office has been playing an important role in presenting a soft image of the government at National / International level.
